Shipments delivered via Rapid Standard will not necessarily be delivered to the addressee personally. The Carrier may deliver a package to the addressee shown on the barcode label or to any other person appearing to have authority to accept delivery of the package on the addressee's behalf (such as persons at the same premises as the addressee or neighbours of the addressee). When shipping to residential address, if the drop off location is in a safe area, then the courier driver will leave the parcel at your doorstep.
After you have paid for a delivery service within UK, you will be redirected to a page where you can download and print out the relevant shipping labels, i.e
AWB (Courier Waybill - barcode label) - Address label.
The above documents must be attached to the parcel. Otherwise your package will be rejected by the driver.
Goods travelling by 'Cargo' are subject to different restrictions to those travelling as carry-on luggage.
A shipment within UK is deemed unacceptable if: it is classified as hazardous material, dangerous goods, prohibited or restricted articles by IATA (International Air Transport Association), ADR (Euro-pean Road Transport Regulation on dangerous goods) or other relevant organisation. Many items which appear harmless in everyday use can pose danger on air transport and are consequently forbidden for transport.
The following page displays a sampling of common prohibited and restricted goods.
Your parcel must be boxed and well packaged. This will reduce the risk of damage to any item during
transit or any associated automated distribution process.
Please be aware the item is not taken by hand from collection to destination and will visit many sorted
facilities on its journey. For that reason, you need to protect the items to ensure they make it from A
to B safely.
The following packaging guidelines are recommendations to assist you in packaging your shipment:
When you book a shipping service to United Kingdom, you will be able to choose an
appropriate level of cover for your shipment. We offer enhanced parcel protection for up to £2000

If you manage a business that needs to arrange a parcel delivery to Edinburgh on a regular basis then there are several things you’ll be looking for in a courier comparison and booking website. The first is the knowledge that the couriers they deal with for your Edinburgh shipping are totally reliable and that’s a promise we can easily make. Our reputation depends on the expertise and professionalism of the couriers we use and, having been doing this for many years, we’ve built up long-term relationships based on the knowledge that our couriers are the best in the business.
After that you’ll want the actual process of booking a parcel delivery to Edinburgh to be as quick and simple as possible, to cut down on the amount of valuable time your business has to spend filling in forms and entering details. At RapidParcel.com we’ve streamlined this procedure to the point where it consists of six simple steps and this, combined with features such as bulk uploading and ‘auto-fill’, means that the time and workload involved in arranging your Edinburgh package delivery are kept to an absolute minimum.
There are numerous reasons why UK businesses might want to make use of our shipping to Edinburgh service. Although the city, the capital of Scotland and seat of its parliament, is probably best known as a tourist centre, drawing millions of visitors a year to its historic buildings and the annual Edinburgh festival, it is also one of the UK’s leading business destinations. According to the Centre for International Competitiveness, Edinburgh is the most competitive large city in the UK and in 2011 fDi Magazine voted it the Best Small City of the Future. Its economy is based largely around the higher education, financial services, banking and tourist sectors and companies such as Tesco Bank and Virgin Money have based their headquarters there.
Carriers for business or personal shipping
Our service for sending a single package for personal reasons is second to none, but a large part of our business is based upon the extras we offer to our corporate customers. Although our size and the length of time we’ve spent working with our couriers means that we’ve persuaded them to offer the kind of price for an Edinburgh delivery that won’t be matched elsewhere, we go one step further for our corporate customers offering the most competitive corporate rates based on volume of spend i.e. the more you ship with us, the less you pay for each individual Edinburgh package delivery. When this pricing system is viewed alongside corporate features such as access to dedicated one-to-one support, and, for selected customers, the reassurance of a credit facility, we’re sure you’ll agree that it represents the best value around, whether it’s for Edinburgh shipping, a parcel delivery to Bristol or a package delivery to Cambridge.
To gain an idea of how cheaply you could send your deliveries to Scotland, take a look at the table at the bottom of this page. One of the primary benefits of using our service is that we set out our carriers’ services and rates side by side so you can select the one that is best for your needs. Simply complete our Rapid Quote form on the Home page of our site and choose the right one for you. When your business depends on shipping to Edinburgh, let us make it our business to handle the job for you.
