Shipments

Shipments delivered via Rapid Standard will not necessarily be delivered to the addressee personally. The Carrier may deliver a package to the addressee shown on the barcode label or to any other person appearing to have authority to accept delivery of the package on the addressee's behalf (such as persons at the same premises as the addressee or neighbours of the addressee). When shipping to residential address, if the drop off location is in a safe area, then the courier driver will leave the parcel at your doorstep.

Documents Needed?

After you have paid for a delivery service within UK, you will be redirected to a page where you can download and print out the relevant shipping labels, i.e

AWB (Courier Waybill - barcode label) - Address label.

The above documents must be attached to the parcel. Otherwise your package will be rejected by the driver.

Restricted Goods

Goods travelling by 'Cargo' are subject to different restrictions to those travelling as carry-on luggage.

A shipment within UK is deemed unacceptable if: it is classified as hazardous material, dangerous goods, prohibited or restricted articles by IATA (International Air Transport Association), ADR (Euro-pean Road Transport Regulation on dangerous goods) or other relevant organisation. Many items which appear harmless in everyday use can pose danger on air transport and are consequently forbidden for transport.

The following page displays a sampling of common prohibited and restricted goods.

Packing Advice

Your parcel must be boxed and well packaged. This will reduce the risk of damage to any item during transit or any associated automated distribution process.

Please be aware the item is not taken by hand from collection to destination and will visit many sorted facilities on its journey. For that reason, you need to protect the items to ensure they make it from A to B safely.

The following packaging guidelines are recommendations to assist you in packaging your shipment:

Shipment Protection

When you book a shipping service to United Kingdom, you will be able to choose an appropriate level of cover for your shipment. We offer enhanced parcel protection for up to £2000 for a small additional fee.

If you do not purchase enhanced Shipment Protection, your shipment will be only covered to a maximum value of £50 as per the limited liability set out in our Terms & Conditions and subject to your parcel passing minimum packaging requirements.

Please note that the declared value for customs purposes is not related to the declared value selected for Shipment Protection. We encourage all customers to purchase shipment protection cover for loss or damage.

Giving you choices every step of the way to customise our service when you're booking a package delivery to Reading is at the very centre of what we have to offer. Tailor your selection so that it precisely matches your needs and requirements, so that when your Reading shipping is on its way, it'll be arranged in exactly the way you required.

Reading is located at the meeting point of the River Thames and River Kennet, forty miles west of London. The economy of the town is based largely around information technology, with Microsoft and Oracle both having a presence there, whilst alongside them are the likes of Ericsson, Virgin Media, Intel and Xerox. Another industry with large-scale representation in Reading is finance, thanks to the presence of the insurance company Prudential and the so-called "Big Four" accounting firms Deloitte, KPMG, Ernst and Young, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Business aside, Reading is probably most famous throughout the UK, and indeed the world, for the Reading Music Festival, which has taken place on August Bank Holiday weekend every year since 1971. By 2001, the capacity of the Reading festival had grown to 87,000, making it one of the largest as well as oldest annual music festivals to still be running.

Whatever reason you have for making a parcel delivery to Reading, the choices begin the moment you realise you have something that needs shipping to Reading. Firstly, you can decide how to access our service. Most customers will arrange their Reading package delivery via our website, but there is also the option of booking shipping to Reading via a our mobile-optimised website (Mobisite) on your phone or, if neither of these meets your requirements, visiting one of our 'Rapid Parcel & Post' drop-off points, where specially trained members of staff will guide you through the booking process and ensure that you have everything you need to arrange a successful package delivery to Reading. The next choice you'll be able to make is that of which courier to use to make your Reading parcel delivery, and here we've done much of the hard work for you by making sure that this choice isn't from every single courier out there but only from the very best available, the ones we know through extensive experience can be relied upon to deliver on their promises time after time. Your shipping to Reading may be urgent in nature, or it may be that you're working to a looser timetable and a tighter budget, in which case you can cut costs by taking advantage of our economy service, which takes slightly longer but does so for even less money than our standard next-day delivery. All across the UK, whether it's a parcel delivery to Milton Keynes or a package delivery to Newcastle, we offer the same exhaustive range of choices, up to and including offering a wide range of payment options.
